Should You Take A First Aid Kit To The Park?

Since no one can predict when an accident will happen and they usually happen when you are the least prepared, taking a first aid kit to the park is just as important as having one at home. There are a lot of minor and serious injuries that occur, even on the shortest visits to the park.
Children are a magnet for injury so if they are are in your company on this park trip then there is a good chance you will actually use the first aid kit at some point of the day. They tend to trip over invisible bumps in the ground, fall off swings, skin their elbows when coming down slides and of course, the list goes on. Even if it is not your children, other people's children are prone to accident around you as well and they are equally important to be taken care of.
Additionally, where children are concerned, many parks have small creeks of water or ponds running through them that a child can easily drown in. A properly stocked first aid kit will contain a CPR card to easily access to guide you to resuscitate breathing in a drown victim. A resuscitation face shield is helpful to have as well. The CPR card is also handy ...
... to have if someone is choking which can be a common occurrence at the park. Many people have picnics at the park and also children will tend to snack on things such as goldfish or other crackers and want to run around and play. The CPR card will aid you in saving the life of a choking person.
A lot of parks have grills available to cook up your lunch or dinner on which can also pose a potential need for a first aid kit. Obviously, there is always a chance for burn but also it is easy to get smoke in your eyes, even with the slightest bit of wind. Your first aid kit will have saline solution to rinse your eyes out properly.
In addition to the obvious antiseptic wipes and bandages that you need in your first aid kit for the park, you also need gloves. Chances are, you are not going to have a bathroom readily available to properly clean your hands prior to treating any open wounds. Having plastic gloves available will reduce the chance of you spreading more germs to the area.
Accidents commonly occur at the park. It is always said that you are better to be safe than sorry. There is nothing worse than needing a valuable first aid kit and not having one available to use so do the right thing and take a kit to the park with you next time you go.
