Promotional materials are a great way for any company to get their name and their logo out into public use. If a logo or company name is successful, then it will incite all of the good things about that company. For example, when you see the 'Virgin' logo, you instantly think of the adverts, the phones, the airplanes and Richard Branson's publicity stunts; and if you've had a good experience with any of their products or services then this will be great advertising for them. Regardless of experiences too, a logo or company name will make you think of that company and this will help to raise the profile of that company. For example, it might be that over time your company has left the public eye and is not the first brand people think of anymore when they want that service. If you logo is 'out there' in the world, on mugs, mats, t-shirts etc etc, then you will make the company one that people are highly familiar with again and one that seems 'current'. If you are a celebrity, then it's important to be photographed in lots of high profile events, to make statements, to get interviews and to generally be seen. If you own a company ...

The logo then is what must be seen, and by putting it out their as a visual manifestation of your ethos and service you can this way 'be seen' and stay A list. Finally, promotional materials make great free gifts - enticing people to make a purchase, or making them feel as though they've gotten a better deal when they do.

By placing your logo on pens, books, mugs, mouse mats and t-shirts then, you can get your company logo out to a lot of people and ensure that your brand is seen regularly. Every time they get used the person using it will be reminded of your company or brand, and every time they use it in public tens or even hundreds of people will see it. It might later get passed on or re-used spreading your brand all over the globe.

For this reason two great promotional products are bags and lanyards. The reason they're so effective? Because they get carried around with the person. Someone with a promotional bag is likely to take it shopping, to the gym, on holiday or wherever else it is they're going - and as they'll be carried in the person's hand or on their back they'll be easily seen (unlike a pen or a mug that will only be seen when they're used). This really maximises the amount of people who will see your branding and so maximises on your investment - securing bags as one of the best ideas for promotional products.

The same goes for lanyards - material ropes that go around the neck to secure items that could possibly be dropped such as cameras, phones etc. They can also be used to hold ID cards or passports or anything else that the person wants to hand/seen. Again these are usually worn outside of the clothing so that they can be seen rather than being hidden under a tshirt etc.

Think about companies that sponsor athletes etc. They sponsor them so that they'll simply wear the name of the company and be seen by lots of people. But if you have hundreds of bags printed you'll likely reach the same number of people for half the price. If that person happens to be on the news or takes it to a large event such as a concert then suddenly you've reached thousands of people.
