We all know that skin is the most sensitive organ of our body. We also want to keep our skin healthy in order to look beautiful and stand out different from others. But there are some kinds of skin diseases which damage our skin and make people look quite ugly. There is a long list of diseases which affect skin in one way or the other but here we will not deal with all of then but only one which is Psoriasis. Though this disease is non-infectious but still people run away from it as it makes one look really bad. People who suffer through the problem of Psoriasis experience red and scaly patches on the skin surface. There are some exceptional people who do not face any dermatological symptoms but this is quite rare.

The red patches which appear in this disease are known as psoriatic plaques which are caused due to excessive skin production and inflammation particularly in that area of skin. It has been that in psoriasis the patches appear on extensor aspect of the joints like elbows and knees but this is not customary as plaques can appear on other body parts like scalp, genitals, palms and feet and any other part. This ...
... disease is chronic in nature and can occur either in the form of few small patches or at the worst covering the entire body with psoriatic plaques. As a consequence of this disease many other problems can be caused to the person suffering through it. One problem known as psoriatic arthritis can occur, in which inflammation of joints is caused. Other condition is known as psoriatic nail dystrophy in which fingernails and toenails get affected.

If you are thinking about what factors can cause this disease then let me tell you that there is no exact factor which cause psoriasis but few which can be thought of as causal factors of this disease are:

1) Genetic factors
2) Injury to skin for a long duration
3) Stress
4)Smoking and drinking
5) Withdrawal of systematic corticosteroid

Now before we talk about the treatment for psoriasis it is important to know how to diagnose whether you are suffering through this problem or not. To diagnose this disease no blood tests are conducted. Rather a test is conducted known as skin biopsy or scrapping is done by the result of which it can concluded whether person is suffering through the problem or not. There are available different types of treatments to treat the problem of psoriasis. But before you take any kind of treatment you should know that this problem is recurring and can occur even after getting a treatment. There is available a cream called Revitol Dermasis which can help one in getting rid of patches caused during psoriasis. This cream is gentle and gets easily absorbed by the skin when applied. It helps in getting rid not just from red flakes but other things like itchiness as well. The ingredients which make Revitol effective include Salicylic acid, palm oil, vitamin E and tea tree oil.
