Clep Provides College Students With Exceptional Value
With the cost of college rising and the country in a recession, many would be college bound students are nervous about how they will be to afford a college education. Since many employers require a college education, skipping college entirely due to financial concerns is not a good route to take. Instead, students should consider CLEP. CLEP, which stands for College Level Examination Program, gives students a chance to earn college credit, without enrolling in a college course. Many universities and colleges, both small, private schools and large research universities, accept CLEP scores. Interested students should speak with their guidance counselors or academic advisors to find out if their school accepts CLEP.
There are CLEP exams available in 34 different subject areas, including American literature, history, science, foreign languages, and math. One CLEP test only costs $72. For some military personnel and veterans, the tests are free. Compare that to the hundreds or thousands of dollars you would spend on a college course, and ...
... CLEP comes out the clear winner in terms of monetary value.
Taking one or more CLEP exam not only cuts down on college costs, it allows students to personalize their college experience. A student who earns a qualifying score on a CLEP tests may be eligible for up to 12 college credits, usually the equivalent of three or four classes. Instead of taking basic introductory classes in a topic, CLEP allows students to advance to more challenging classes earlier on. CLEP also helps students to meet proficiency requirements established by their school. Earning college credit with CLEP allows students to explore other academic interests outside their major field of study.
Passing scores on CLEP exams may allow the student to graduate earlier than they would otherwise. A student who finishes college in three years instead of four has an edge in the job market over their peers. CLEP may provide other students with the last few credits they need to graduate, preventing that student from having to enroll for an additional semester just to earn a few more credits. Students who graduate on time pay far less than students whose college education drags on.
CLEP allows students to make use of knowledge and skills they have already picked up from high school courses, externships, or extra-curricular interests. Most schools are beginning to realize that education comes in many forms, not just the traditional classroom setting.
About Us:- Taking a CLEP exams shows colleges that a student is committed to getting a valuable education and is coming to the school prepared and ready to learn.
