Within Yucatan MLS listings, Playa del Carmen Real Estate, currently one fastest growing markets in Latin America, presents some of the most interesting property options. As the area grows, continually improved access to other Yucatan Real Estate areas are being built, with a growing network of excellent highways linking parts of the Yucatan Peninsula, which is home to several of Mexico's most desired real estate areas, and most interesting places for residents to visit.

At the beginning of February, a highway of about 33 miles to connect Playa del Carmen to an expressway in a nearby municipality, was released. The new expressway would go through the west side of Playa del Carmen (the non-beach side of the federal highway) providing increased access to new developments and shopping areas.

In addition to providing specific access to a specific area of the Yucatan Peninsula, this project is a part of an ongoing series of road constructions which are making life in Playa del Carmen convenient for real estate owners. Major highway improvement is also taking place from nearby Tulum to the pyramid site in Coba, and the colonial city Valladolid.

While projects such as these ones improve traveling to sites in the area, within the city itself, well-planned road expansions are also taking place. A recently built "Arch road" by-passes the stretch of the federal highway which passes downtown, easing traffic. The by-pass also provides quick, easy access to Playa del Carmen's two new shopping malls and large-screen movie theaters. The road is currently receiving palm trees and ornamented medians to increase the pleasantness of the drive.
