Haven Ministries is a nonprofit organization providing hope to those in need in Queen Anne’s County by supplying shelter, clothing, food and support. Ministries include Haven Ministries Homeless Shelter, Our Daily Thread Thrift Shop, Haven Ministries Emergency Food Pantry, Resource Center and Street Outreach.

Haven Ministries changes lives by providing assistance and empowering the homeless through financial, emotional, and spiritual support, and you can help! Volunteer with Haven Ministries and make a difference in the lives of our neighbors. Haven Ministries is a coalition of Christian churches providing shelter, clothing, food, and support. We operate on the premise of showing God’s love to the poor within our community by providing essentiHl service. Future Goal: Housing Assistance Program. Haven Minis ries is actively seeking a building to purchase that would enable clients to live on the property long term for a reasonable fee. A voluntary case management component will be part of the plan for the new site.

Haven Ministries is a nonprofit organization providing hope to those in need in Queen Anne’s County by supplying shelter, clothing, food and support.

Haven Ministries Emergency Food Pantry:- Haven Ministries Emergency Food Pantry is also provided the third Friday of every month (except November) at Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church in Stevensville, Maryland, from 5:30pm-7:00pm. Over 7,000 pounds of food is distributed to needy families during each food distribution date.
Purpose: To provide emergency food to the residents of Queen Anne’s County. Haven Ministries partners with the Maryland Food Bank as well as community members and groups to purchase and collect food. Over 7,000 pounds of food is distributed to approximately 130 families every month.
Overview: The Haven Ministries Emergency Food Pantry was created in response to the closing of an area food pantry. So there would not be an interruption to food needs, Haven Ministries opens the Food Pantry the third Friday of every month (except for November/due to a Community Thanksgiving Program). Community members such as Boy Scouts, Kiwanis, Youth Groups etc., volunteer monthly.

Haven Ministries Resource Center:- The Resource Center advances the ministry of Haven Ministries by offering a place of referral and case management services to residents of Queen Anne’s County. The Resource Center will include case management services, educational programs, job training, and use of computers and office equipment. The Resource Center also offers office space for Haven Ministries in which to conduct meetings and perform administrative duties.Purpose: To meet the needs of QAC residents who need a hand up by offering information on financial counseling, job training, wellness, limited pastoral counseling, and enrichment classes

Our Daily Thread Thrift Store:-
Our Daily thread Thrift Store provides deeply discounted prices on clothing and household items with proceeds benefiting Haven Ministries.
Purpose: Our Daily Thread Thrift Store collects donations of clothing and household items from the community and sells them at deeply discounted prices. The store provides community members a place to shop that is affordable and sells decent products. Our Daily Thread Thrift Store also gives away free items to the poor in Queen Anne’s County. Referrals for this often come from county and state programs as well as churches and other nonprofit organizations.

Overview: Our Daily Thread Thrift Store is a revenue source for Haven Ministries. The profits from the sales help fund all of the ministries of Haven Ministries. The Thrift Store also provides a place for its clients to work and gain valuable job experience and community connections.
Donations: Are welcomed and accepted during store hours only: gently used clothing, shoes, household goods, collectables, toys, small applicances, and small furniture items. No baby equipment or electronics.

treet Outreach Services: Haven Ministries’ staff proactively works with individuals and families who are experiencing a housing crisis before they are in need of emergency shelter services and helps connect them with available resources. An average of 20 individuals and families are helped monthly though Street Outreach Services.
Purpose:To help community members experiencing a housing crisis.

Haven Ministries Shelter:- Haven Ministries Shelter is a temporary winter shelter serving the homeless of Queen Anne’s County, Maryland. The shelter is open from December through April and is operated by some staff members along with a volunteer force made up of area Christian churches and community members. Haven Ministries Shelter is the result of the planning and support of Haven Ministries, an alliance of Christian churches working as one body to help those in need in the name of Jesus Christ.
Purpose:To provide a safe and warm environment for the night to men, women, and children. To serve three meals along with assistance for clothing, food, and other necessities to all shelter guests. To provide hope through Jesus Christ to those in need.
