There are many people that still get to experience the thrill of a marriage proposal just once in their lifetimes. For those that get to experience that unique and memorable moment, they want it to be something unforgettable. For the one that is doing the actual proposing, there might be only one chance to get it right, too. There are a few different ways to go making a proposal, but you should think about adding something unique. Here are some ideas that you might consider to make a lasting (a lifelong-lasting) impression:

* Taking the love of your life to the first place that you met is a good way to pop the question. You can set up something there at the spot, like rose petals to follow to where the ring is hidden. Then you can ask your lady love to do you the honor of becoming your spouse.
* The holiday season can be the perfect time of year for proposals. Depending on where you live, the snow always adds a very romantic touch to anything. * A scavenger hunt is always a unique way to propose to someone. You can begin the hunt with a simple clue of where to look next and as the hunt progresses have the final location be a place where you can hide, as well -- and then jump out with ring in hand, get down on one knee and propose.
* Spell out the marriage proposal in a secret location, like lipstick on a bathroom mirror. Blindfold your sweetheart until you get there and then remove the blindfold, so that she can see the special message. Lawn signs would work, too.
* Use sticky notes in different places in the house. Write things about your sweetheart that you love about her on each one. Then use the last sticky note to ask her to marry you. You can even place the last sticky note on the ring box, which is always a nice touch.
* Purchase a box of chocolates and replace one of the pieces of chocolate with the ring, so that when your lady opens the box, the ring is there staring up at her. You can get down on one knee and finish the job. Or you can hide the ring in the egg carton if you know that she makes breakfast every weekend. Then when she goes to open the box, the ring is there and you can be ready to get on your knee and ask.
* You can go to your local movie theater and see if there is any way for them to display the message on their screen during the advertisements. Some theaters might be willing to do this with or without a fee.
* Hire a quartet or singers to perform some romantic songs for you two at a candlelight dinner. Then when you are ready to pop the question they can sing an appropriate tune while you get on one knee and propose.
* Skywriting is an old, traditional way to propose to someone and people have been doing it this way for decades. This is a very romantic and special way to do it. There is no doubt that this will get their attention and it is something that will be very memorable and timeless. Just schedule it right and don't forget to have her look up!
* Plan a special trip or getaway for a weekend. This is a good way to build up to the proposal and she might not suspect a thing until you're ready to pop the question. You can stroll along the beach or take a romantic walk under the stars and then propose when she is least expecting it.
A marriage proposal is one of the most important things that a couple will ever experience, and these ideas can help you decide on how you want to approach this important question. You want it to be special, unique and something that both of you will never forget. So, take your time to plan a great proposal to make sure you hear a resounding "Yes!" from the one you love so dearly.
