The Current Debate On School Homework

There is a notion that a student learns a new thing every day at school; however, when it comes to homework, parent’s perspective is divided. There is an old saying used by teachers around the educational arena that “practice makes perfect” but it seems to work just fine for schoolwork. It is a natural part of student life to indulge in school books and worksheets after dinner every night; however, the debate is heating up suggesting that it should not be so.
The author further explains that although the amount of research study carried out to find a correlation between homework and academic achievement in elementary school is immense, but these studies failed to find any particular relation between these two aspects. Furthermore, according to the author, there is very little reason to believe that homework is any way beneficial to students in high school; in fact, it may cause a student to lose interest in studies.

... in order to mitigate those worries among families. For instance, a private nonprofit school in Tucson, Arizona called the “Kino School” has a policy of no homework for all grade students. The key aim of introducing this policy was to make student learning experience as pleasant as possible. Mary Jane Cera, an academic administrator for the school, states that it is a sigh of relief for the student when they are told there will be no homework assignments.
