Access Database Corruption After Converting Mdb File Using Dao
Microsoft Access Database is preferred and used in multi-user environment, serving various organizational/business operations with ease and flexibility. Probability of corruption in Access .MDB database multiplies with multiple users performing concurrent operations. Therefore to resolve the corruption issues, you need to consider effective Access repair software. For instance, when a user executes the .MDB Access database, given below error message is displayed on the computer's screen and it might irritate you a bit:
This database has been converted from a prior version of Microsoft Office Access by using the DAO CompactDatabase method instead of the Convert Database command on the Tools menu (Database Utilities submenu). This has left the database in a partially converted state. If you have a copy of the database in its original format, use the Convert Database command on the Tools menu (Database Utilities submenu) to convert. If the original database is no longer available, create a new database and import your tables and queries to preserve your data. Your other database objects can't be recovered.
Cause
...
... Cause for this issue is already explained to you in the error itself. Well it's the usage of Data Access Object (DAO) to convert the Access database of the previous version by the Compact Database method. Compact Database method allows the user to compact the database (closed database) and convert its version, encryption and collating order.
The state of opened Access database might be the driving factor for this issue to crop up and hence the corruption in MS Access database.
Resolution for this issue
To perform Access Repair, using backup copy could be the foremost solution. But it's not necessary that you are having an updated and valid backup copy of that particular Access database file with you. In such situation, you need to manually enter the data for every table, form and query, which includes creating a new Access database file and linking to the components of old one. Obviously its one tiresome and impotent solution, therefore you have to look upon any another safe and fast option.
Also the above solution is not feasible in case of a large MS Access database as the user may encounter more problems while entering and linking the data. Using third party tools are the only option left if you want your work done without putting in any extra effort. Access Repair software is very much easy to use. Just select the corrupt .MDB file to repair, repair them and then save the repaired Access file at your desired location. Software for Access repair restores original structure, data and formatting. Access repair software is available for FREE download and repairs Access database files of Access 95, 97, 2000, and 2003 versions.
