The Difference Between Public And Private Hire Vehicles    By: However, you may not realise how much of a differe
However, you may not realise how much of a difference there is between a private hire vehicle and a public hire one. We tend to think of taxi cabs as being a single type of vehicle, but this is not the case at all. If you are running a private hire company, then you will have to park your vehicle in a central depot and wait for prearranged customers to board your cab. For example, it is not permitted for you to just go looking around for fares at railway stations or airports. In a nutshell; it will be necessary for every one of your customers to book their trips in advance. This may make it sound as if you will be pretty limited with clients, but most private hire firms get along quite happily enough. Put it this way; if they did not, then we would only ever see public hire taxis on our streets! Besides, over time, you are bound to build up your own client base. Any private hire company will have plenty of its own regular customers who make the same journeys time and again. Many people will feel more secure with routine and you are likely to see many of the same faces every week! So, there is something to be said for both types of taxi work and anyone considering starting out with their own company should give plenty of thought to each. Do you like the idea of ‘fishing’ for custom? Or do you prefer the ‘advanced bookings’ technique? It doesn’t really matter which of these you decide on because they both have the potential to become a very profitable business. However, there is one other very important factor left to consider... insurance. Now, if you are still unsure of exactly which route to follow, then the question of insurance may well have an effect on your final decision. The bottom line is that private hire insurance is often far cheaper than that for public hire. Considering that this will be one of your largest annual outgoings, it may be a very good reason to opt for private hire. You can also choose from several different types of cover for your pre-booked taxi cabs. There will be policies for private hire companies who tend to stay within the city limits with their vehicles and others for firms who specialise in making many far longer trips. Obviously, there will be a difference in cost between these types of protection and it is important to read as much about each as you can. It may even help to shape the way that you ultimately run your taxi business. Public Liability Insurance News And Information(read entire article)(posted on: 2010-08-26)

Small Stores Deserve Big Protection    By: But behind the scenes of any business there is a g
But behind the scenes of any business there is a great deal of hard work involved. New stock needs to be ordered, staff rotas must be organised and accounts have to be kept up to date. Local stores may play an important role in our lives, but this would not be the case without the efforts of their owners. And that is without taking anything else into account... Running a small business will have plenty of challenges when everything is going smoothly, but if disaster strikes, then it can really put a spanner in the works! You may not think there are many things which could go wrong. After all, we are only talking about a small local store. But you would be surprised at the number of situations which can arise without the slightest warning. Take a moment to think about this; we all know about the risks of fire, theft or flooding, but there are many other far more unusual disasters just waiting to befall the unsuspecting storekeeper! We have a big problem with drunk drivers in our society and what is to stop one of them taking a ‘wrong turn’ into the front of small store? Or what about opening your shop one morning to find that your chimney stack has collapsed and fallen through your roof during the night? You may scoff at these scenarios and point out that the chances of them actually taking place are incredibly slim. And you would, of course, be right; but life has a habit of springing the most unpleasant surprises upon us when we least expect it. Besides, those are just two possible situations... Who knows what will happen tomorrow or even this afternoon? Many people go through life with an ‘It will never happen to me’ attitude, but this is not a good philosophy to have. Anything can happen to any of us and it may prove to be either good or bad! It is always best to have as many safeguards in place as possible. We may not have the power to prevent a disaster, but we can certainly have insurance in place to help us pick up the pieces! Everyone will have their own individual needs when they are purchasing insurance so it is good to know there is a wide selection of policies to choose from. But the best news of all is that shopkeepers can purchase a policy that is purposely designed for their type of work; it is called Traders Insurance and it will meet all the requirements of someone running their own store. This can be a very worthwhile investment and it will offer shopkeepers great peace of mind. But it may still be worth getting someone to check on that chimney stack sometime...(read entire article)(posted on: 2010-08-26)
