Dharmasthala is a Hindu pilgrimage spot located on the banks of Nethravathi River in Karnataka. About ten thousand pilgrims visit the holy Manjunatha temple every day. A unique feature of the temple is that it is run by Jains and prayers are carried out by Hindu priests. The Dharmasthala temple organization undertakes interesting activities such as serving free food for pilgrims, managing educational institutions, providing free health care services and organizing mass weddings for free. Bangalore, the garden city is the capital city of the state of Karnataka. Being a center for a number of Information Technology industries it is also named as Silicon Valley of India. Bangalore city also hosts numerous large scale public sector industries. It is highly populated with people of all cultures. Tremendous growth of the city is posing the risk of pollution and socio-economic troubles. Bangalore is located at a distance of 276 km from Dharmasthala. The two places are well connected by road. This being the only way to travel from Dharmasthala to Bangalore, the Karnataka Road Transport Corporation operates numerous buses between the two places. For the convenience of the travelers KSRTC is operating two different types of bus services the cheaper Rajahamsa service and the expensive Airavat service with air conditioned buses. Dharmasthala bus station is located at a distance of 2 km from the center of the village and can be reached easily using the auto rickshaw service. Travel by road takes about seven hours. For a more comfortable journey you can hire a taxi. The drive will be on NH 4 and NH 48 via Sakleshpur, Hassan, Channarayapatna, Kunigal and Nelamangala. On the way you can find HP petrol pump, Bank ATM's and hotels. There is no railway station at Dharmasthala. The nearest railway junctions are Bantwala and Mangalore. To travel from Dharmasthala to Bangalore by train travel from Dharmasthala to either Bantwala or Mangalore by bus or taxi and then take a direct train to Bangalore at any of these stations. Journey from Dharmasthala to Bantwala or Mangalore takes about one to one and half hour. The journey from Bantwala Jn to Bangalore City Jn or Yesvantpur Jn takes about nine hours. Travel from Mangalore to Bangalore takes about ten hours. There is no airport at Dharmasthala. Mangalore airport is the nearest airport to Dharmasthala. If you wish to travel from Dharmasthala to Bangalore by air you have to travel to Mangalore from Dharmasthala by bus or taxi and from there take a direct flight to Bangalore. The flight journey will be about an hour. So, within two hours you can travel from Dharmasthala to Bangalore. However, flight journey is expensive and could be slight cumbersome due to the changeovers. Dharmasthala hotels offer good food to taste. After visiting Dharmasthala you can stay in Bangalore. Pune is located at a distance of 952.77 km from Jaipur and well-connected. However, the best way to reach from Pune to Jaipur is by air. There is one weekly superfast train from pune to Jaipur which is available only on Wednesday. It departs from Pune Jn at 3.20 PM and arrives at Jaipur next day at 1.40 PM. It halts at Kalyan, Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam, Kota, Sawaimadhopur, Niwai Banasthali stations.
